What is the MetaProp Bridge?
The 20-week MetaProp Bridge at Columbia University connects up to 6 select PropTech startups from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa to award winning investors, experienced mentors and diverse real estate, technology and institutional partners in North America. Each startup may also qualify for up to USD 250,000 in financing from MetaProp NYC.
The first 6 weeks of the MetaProp Bridge at Columbia University program are spent in London, preparing each startup for serious international expansion. The remaining 14 weeks of intensive programming are based in NYC’s Silicon Alley (Manhattan), which acts as a launching pad for developing business in additional North American markets including Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Toronto. Startups then have an option to extend the NYC portion of the program by an additional 12 weeks.
What types of startups do you accept in the MetaProp Bridge?
We are looking for early stage (seed, post-seed, Series A) startups with 2-to-25 employees. We will consider startups touching the majority of asset types (office, retail, residential, hospitality, industrial and leisure) and value chain categories. The ideal Bridge applicant will have a demonstrated product market fit in their local market and be looking to scale in North American markets.

What if we have already graduated from a startup accelerator? Is our startup still eligible for the MetaProp Bridge @ Columbia University?
We have successfully accelerated dozens of companies, including graduates of Y-Combinator, TechStars, 500 Startups, Plug & Play and more. In fact, graduates of other accelerator programs are often the best fit MetaProp programs.
When should I apply for MetaProp NYC?
Applications for the 2018/2019 class open December 13, 2017 and close on February 25th, 2018. We encourage you to APPLY IMMEDIATELY!
How long does the program run?

How does the application process work?
The application is completed online. You will get an email confirmation after submitting the application. MetaProp NYC will finish reviewing applications by February 26, 2018 and notify all applicants of their status by March 1, 2018. If selected for the next stage, you mayb receive an email from us inviting you to interview with the Accelerator team.
What stage company is the optimal fit for the MetaProp Bridge @ Columbia University program?
This program is focused on Pre-Seed, Seed, and Series A stage companies with demonstrated product market fit in local market and looking to scale in North American markets. These companies will likely have 2+ yrs in business and employ 2-50 people.
Does my startup need to be in NYC for the duration of the US “Sprint”? Do I have to stay in NYC when the program ends?
Your job is to grow your business. However, the founders, key executives or appointed growth leaders of your startup should be able to attend office hours, evening programming, education sessions and special events in New York City. These will usually be held on Thursdays (afternoon and evening) and, occasionally, on Fridays (morning). Program participants will receive a final schedule of events prior to the program’s start.
Can I apply if our company or founders are not from the USA? Can you help with visa / immigration issues?
Yes. We have experience with overseas visas and relocations.
How do you choose which companies to accept into the program and to fund?
MetaProp Bridge @ Columbia University finalists and program participants are evaluated against more than 20 independent criteria. Some of the most important selection criteria include:

The 8-week MetaProp Pre-Accelerator @ Columbia University focuses on companies that may be very early in the startup process. It is a structured program with a very short timeframe that focuses on big ideas from first-time entrepreneurs, students, recent graduates, and scholars. Programming tends to revolve around mentoring, validation of business idea, a clear understanding of the customer development strategy, market and competitive analysis, a minimum viable product, and communications. The Pre-Accelerator culminates with a “Graduation Defense” panel in front of industry experts and respected academics.
